TRIPS:Through its on-site tours and educational workshops, Biladi organizes school trips
since the day it was founded. All the trips serve the same purpose:
to enable Lebanese children to discover their natural and historical heritage,
their history and their traditions. The trips consist mostly of one day visits to
archaeological sites and villages, where traditions are still alive. Almost 40.000
students from private and public schools have so far taken part in Biladi school
trips, broadening their knowledge of their country’s past through activities such
as organizing role plays dealing with historical themes. -

ACTIVITIES RELATED TO
HERITAGE:These activities aim at familiarizing children and teenagers with their
heritage, and teaching them about history while having fun. Such activities
have, during past years, targeted Lebanese and Syrian children alike. These
activities have contributed to filling gaps in the children’s knowledge of history,
as well as in their attachment to their common heritage and their awareness
about the importance of preserving and protecting it. Such pioneer Biladi projects
include Syria in My Mind, Unite4Heritage, the Awareness Campaign on Illicit Trade. -
EDUCATION
OF THE
YOUTHEDUCATIONAL MATERIALS:In the course of its educational projects, Biladi has often had to create its own manuals and its
own educational material in order to serve the purpose of its revolutionary learning concepts.
Our NGO takes pride in the fact that it creates its own teaching methods and the materials
that accompany them, as well as implementing them through training and monitoring. These
materials come in the form of interactive books, multimedia tools, art or culinary workshops,
songs, etc. -

them back to our modern kitchens.» -
HERITAGE
FOR ALL
EDUCATIONAL CENTERS
PROJECT:This project led to the creation of two new educational centers on archaeological and rural
heritage, open to the public. Following the intergenerational fracture caused by a long civil
war and rapid modernization and the effects of globalization, such project bring a broad
Lebanese public closer to its past. The first center, “Beit Sitti w Jeddi”
(“My Grand-parents’ house”), built like a traditional Lebanese house, is dedicated to rural
heritage and is located in the Vocational Agricultural Schools of Fanar and Abdeh. The second
one, “Qalaati” (“My Castle”) aims at understanding archaeological remains and is located in
Smar Jbeil (Batroun). -
HERITAGE

YOUNG PEOPLE AT
NATIONAL MUSEUM:This activity has become one of Biladi’s traditions. Every year, thousands of children are offered
the opportunity to visit the National Museum. On this occasion, Biladi organizes interactive
educational tours which aim at introducing history concepts in a lively way to young people. -
HERITAGE
FOR ALL
DOCUMENTARIES:In the course of its awareness efforts to educate the general public, Biladi is producing a series
of short documentaries on Lebanese Mouneh (traditional provisions). These documentaries
contain recipes and tips for preparing delicious and healthy food. As a first of its kind, this
multimedia material documents a wide range of traditional Lebanese food, thus keeping those
recipes alive by bringing them back to our modern kitchens. -

intergenerational relations and transmission of know how. This category includes projects such
